WHAT TYPE OF EDUCATION DOES GHANA NEED TO PRODUCE THE HUMAN RESOURCES NEEDED FOR ENHANCING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT? Part 2

The other argument is to what type of education the child needs? You can’t teach someone with talent and passion in football, science and think he will be the best scientist. The education has to look at the kind of information or message the child needs in other to build upon and sharpen the knowledge he has in his field.
This helps to make him or her the master or genius in the subject matter. One thing we have to know is, you cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
Therefore the best way of education is allowing the people to be creative and initiative in congruent to talent and passion. The ability to learn from mistakes and making mistakes is a new invention in other to create new findings to solve environmental and economic problems.
Don’t teach pigs to sing. It wastes your time, and it annoys the pigs. Likewise, “you cannot teach a poor person to be rich until they change their context." Teaching a person with poor or middle class person’s context is a waste of time…… and it does annoy them. This help us to create a case that, at school “you cannot teach a footballer or runner how to perform experiment at the laboratory……..and it does annoy them."
The traditional education focuses on content; reading, writing and arithmetic. Traditional education doesn’t focus on the context: the student. Context holds the content, context can be visible, invisible, human, or non-human. A person’s context include, philosophies, beliefs, thoughts, rules, values, fears, doubts, and attitudes. The context in the education system has to be examined in order to produce the right human resource needed to make effective and efficient utilization of the natural resource. This helps to enhance economic growth and development in the country.
